Our Mission

Mindful Music, Inc. is a charitable organization that uses the healing power of music to improve the quality of life for our community’s most vulnerable members including (but not limited to) the elderly and people suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, children and adults with special needs, families and individuals coping with the loss of loved ones, and people who are experiencing the final stages of life.

Our Vision

We utilize various methods of connecting with people through music, customizing our approach to meet the specific needs of our clients in order to inspire vocalization, self-expression, physical movement and dance, uplifting feelings of nostalgia, confidence, and/or an overall sense of comfort:

  • Performing live and/or using recorded music to seek out particular genres or specific artists that may hold special meaning to the listener from memories or past experiences, potentially evoking emotional and/or physical responses

  • Hosting songwriting/recording workshops to encourage and enable the participants to share their stories through original compositions

  • Creating music-focused Social Clubs for kids affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other Neurodiversities that impair social skills

  • Working with Speech Pathologists to incorporate music in conjunction with their existing therapies to encourage their clients to vocalize

Our Core Values

Empathy

We consider how we would want to be cared for given the various circumstances we encounter through our experiences with our clients, and in doing so, are better equipped to approach our methodology with honest and ethical intention and attention.

Compassion

We continually strive to understand the needs of our clients, many of whom are experiencing physical pain and discomfort, grief or emotional distress, and other challenging life events.

Honor

We are very passionate about the work that we do. We embrace every opportunity to reach out to members of our community with integrity and respect, letting the essential healing nature of music and sound be the tool we employ to connect to, and ultimately improve, the community in which we live.

Openness

We keep our minds and hearts open to learning new ways of reaching people through music, expanding on our collective knowledge and experiences in hopes of bringing new ideas and progressive approaches of connectivity into practice.

"Remembering music, listening to it or playing it, is entirely in the present, and, while it lasts, it can bridge even the abyss of extreme amnesia or dementia. Music can be more powerful than any drugs."
